Mimica Cookie Policy

Effective Date: August 19, 2026

Mimicalab.com is operated by MIMICA LAB LTD (“we”, “us”, “our”). Like most websites, we use cookies – small files stored on your device when you visit – to help our site run smoothly and remember your preferences.

This policy reflects a full audit of the cookies and trackers actually running on mimicalab.com as of the effective date above, cross-checked against two independent scanning tools. We review it periodically as the site changes.

Necessary and required cookies

These cookies are always used and cannot be switched off. They let our site function correctly, remember your cookie choices, and protect against malicious activity.

  • crumb – Squarespace – Prevents cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks on form submissions – Session – Strictly Necessary / First-Party

  • CookieConsent – mimicalab.com – Stores your cookie consent choice – 1 year – Strictly Necessary / First-Party

  • ss_cookieAllowed – mimicalab.com – Remembers whether you’ve responded to our cookie banner – Session – Strictly Necessary / First-Party

  • test – Squarespace – Detects whether you’ve accepted the marketing cookie category – Persistent – Strictly Necessary / First-Party

  • rc::a, rc::c – Google reCAPTCHA – Distinguishes humans from bots to protect our forms from spam – Persistent / Session – Strictly Necessary / Third-Party

  • RecentRedirect – Squarespace – Prevents redirect loops – Under 1 minute – Strictly Necessary / First-Party

Preferences cookies

These cookies remember choices you’ve made about how content on our site behaves.

  • squarespace-video-player-options – Squarespace – Remembers your chosen video volume setting – Persistent – Preferences / First-Party

Analytics and performance cookies

These cookies are only set once you accept them via our cookie banner, and help us understand how visitors use our site.

  • Squarespace Analytics (internal): ss_cvisit, SS_lastvisit, SS_MATTR, SS_MID – Records visit and interaction data for internal website analysis – Session – Statistics / First-Party

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4):ga, ga_ES8BZVVLRX – Measures how users interact with our content, traffic sources, and site performance – Cookie duration up to 2 years – Third-Party / Analytics

The _ga cookie itself can remain on your device for up to 2 years, but the visit data it records is deleted from Google’s systems after 2 months. These are two different things — cookie lifespan on your device, and how long we retain the data behind it.

  • Adobe Fonts (Typekit): p.gif – Tracks which fonts are used on the site for internal font-loading analysis; does not register visitor data – Session – Statistics / Third-Party

Marketing cookies

These cookies are linked to advertising or content personalization by our providers.

  • Squarespace Analytics (advertising-linked): ss_cid, ss_cpvisit, ss_cvr, ss_cvt, user_segment – Assigns visitors to segments to make website advertising more effective – Session – Marketing / First-Party

  • Google Maps: NID / __Secure-ENID – Set when you view our Contact page, which displays our locations using an embedded Google Map – Up to approximately 13 months – Marketing / Third-Party

Cookies from Squarespace and Google Analytics are only set once you accept our cookie banner. Cookies from Google Maps are not currently gated by our banner and may be set as soon as you view our Contact page — see “How to Manage and Revoke Consent” below for how to control these independently.

Analytics & marketing data retention

  • Squarespace Analytics: We do not collect detailed, per-visitor activity log data. Aggregate reporting metrics are retained historically to support long-term site analytics.

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4): User-level event data is deleted after 2 months. Aggregated reporting metrics are retained indefinitely.

Cross-border data transfers

Some of the cookies above (Google Analytics and Google Maps) result in data being transferred to and processed in the United States. We and our providers use safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK-U.S. Data Bridge. Full details of these safeguards are set out in our Privacy Policy.

Your rights

Because some cookies involve personal data, you also have rights under UK data protection law – including the right to access, correct, delete, and object to how we use your information. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How to manage and revoke consent

You have full control over the non-essential cookies stored on your device:

  • Cookie Banner: On your first visit, non-essential cookies remain restricted until you accept them via our banner. You can change your choice at any time by clicking “Cookie Preferences” in the footer of our site.

  • Google Maps: Cookies set by the embedded Google Maps on our Contact page are not controlled by our cookie banner, since they load as part of viewing that page. If you’d prefer not to receive them, you can block third-party cookies in your browser settings.

  • Browser Settings: You can configure your browser to block, disable, or delete cookies at any time. Refer to your browser’s settings menu (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) to adjust these preferences.

  • Google Analytics Opt-Out: You can globally opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all sites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
